We believe in the healing power of community.
It’s not about stepping in and taking over; it’s about showing up as an ally and using our resources to uplift their work.

We Help The Helpers
By supporting and empowering marginalized adults alongside children, we work to build a foundation that ensures all individuals can thrive in a more inclusive and equitable world. Everything we do ultimately serves the children, but we believe the most sustainable way to help is by supporting the helpers. Our initiatives are designed to fill the gaps that other organizations may overlook, focusing not just on the immediate needs of children but also on the broader ecosystem that surrounds them and their future. Together, we’re paving the way for a brighter future for entire communities.

Our Initiatives
-
While there are opportunities to sponsor children and volunteer with them directly through our programs, our core mission is centered on empowering those who care for the kids—teachers, caregivers, and the surrounding community. We understand that children thrive when their caregivers have the tools, resources, and support they need. To support this mission we provide health insurance, food supplementation, sponsor salaries, and supply classrooms with materials. We also facilitate wellness events like therapy, healing dance, and massage sessions for the staff. By strengthening the adults and systems that nurture children, we create a ripple effect that benefits every child in their care.

In communities where rigid gender roles persist, we facilitate discussions with men to challenge harmful norms and create safer, more equitable environments for women. Our approach starts with the next generation. We engage young boys in schools by providing baby dolls to help them develop caregiving skills. Local mentors guide them in learning essential life skills, such as housework, while fostering respect and empathy for women. We believe that softness, nurturing, and consideration are learned behaviors. We are dedicated to breaking cultural taboos that perpetuate gender inequality and are committed to teaching gentleness as a vital skill. By nurturing these values in boys and men, we aim to create a future where mutual respect and shared responsibility flourish.

LGBTQ+ people in Kenya face discrimination, violence, and ostracization. Same-sex relationships are criminalized, and LGBTQ+people are often physically assaulted and rejected from their families and communities. This systemic marginalization fosters an environment of chronic stress and fear, which takes a profound toll on their physical and mental health and impacts their overall well-being. With local organizations, we provide access to medical care for individuals injured due to their identity, raise funds to support homeless queer individuals and refugees, support monthly wellness gatherings and therapy sessions, create safe spaces for healing and community, and share stories and resources to advocate for justice and shift public narratives toward understanding and inclusion.

We are dedicated to addressing Kenya’s femicide crisis, particularly in rural areas where inequality is most severe, by empowering women and amplifying their voices. Through emotional support workshops, women find healing in group discussions and shared experiences, reinforcing their self-worth. Programs aimed at shifting narratives teach young boys empathy and nurturing behaviors to help prevent future mistreatment of women. We prioritize empowering young girls early through comprehensive sex education and initiatives that build confidence and self-awareness. Additionally, we ensure access to essential healthcare by facilitating yearly gynecological visits and providing reusable menstrual products for female staff. We take an active stand against femicide by marching alongside fellow Kenyans to protest and demand an end to this urgent crisis.

At our organization, we are committed to promoting a holistic approach to wellness that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit. Our diverse range of programs is designed to foster well-being within marginalized communities, where access to care is often limited. We understand the vital importance of emotional support, particularly for those facing systemic barriers, discrimination, and oppression. We recognize that these individuals often battle higher rates of mental health challenges, as the chronic stress they endure leads to significant mental strain and emotional distress. In the communities we serve, we work to make meditation, massage, mental health care, dance therapy, yoga, ancestral healing practices, and other forms of holistic care accessible. We firmly believe that such care should not be a privilege reserved for the few, but a fundamental human right for all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our organization began as a medical service initiative and continues to support local clinics by providing essential resources and care. We supply medical supplies, medications, and volunteers to ensure communities have access to necessary healthcare. In partnership with Dr. Villegas, we run a vision care program that offers vital eye health services. Over the years, our efforts have contributed to the founding of the village’s first-ever medical clinic and dispensary, expanding access to vital health services for the community. We also facilitate health and sex education workshops, empowering individuals with knowledge to make informed decisions about their health. Our efforts include raising medical funds to support individuals who have endured physical violence due to their gender or sexual identities. Additionally, we prioritize the well-being of our female staff by ensuring they have access to yearly gynecological care.
May all beings be safe & free from danger. May all beings be free. May all beings have mental & physical happiness. May all beings be at ease.

Volunteer With Us
For over a decade, we have been sending volunteers to Kenya, from individuals to groups as large as 50. What sets our volunteer program apart is its inclusivity and commitment to education—specifically, teaching volunteers about the historical harms and systemic injustices that have benefited our own societies at the expense of others. Volunteers from all backgrounds are welcomed and equipped with this understanding, empowering them to support communities effectively and with sensitivity. We take pride in fostering an inclusive and affirming environment, welcoming people of every race, gender, and sexual identity, while prioritizing the creation of safe, welcoming spaces for all.
Our program remains deeply conscious of the trauma and harm caused by colonialism, missionary activity, and slavery, acknowledging the lasting impact these histories have on the communities we serve. We also recognize the ways in which we have benefited from these systems of oppression and are committed to leveraging those privileges to promote equity and justice. Through ongoing education, accountability, and action, we strive to dismantle these legacies and address their enduring inequities.
We do not believe in simply coming and going but in building lifelong connections of friendship and support with the people we meet. Beyond service, we focus on creating bridges that last a lifetime, fostering meaningful, enduring relationships through a mutually beneficial cultural exchange. Volunteers and community members share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives, cultivating bonds that transcend borders and inspire mutual understanding, respect, and growth.
At our core, we reject the notion of "white saviors." Instead, we stand for collaboration, humility, and respect, ensuring that our work is guided by the needs and voices of the communities we serve.
This organization is more than a volunteer initiative; it is a step toward reparative justice.
